If a teacher goes on a personal leave of absence for up to two years, they can continue the life, health, dental insurance for the period of the leave as long as they pay 100% of the premiums and make arrangements with Johnson Insurance. If the leave is longer than two years, it may be possible to continue with special permission from the provider.
For the LTD, it will cease immediately as long as they are on leave but they can get it back if the leave is for 24 months or less without having to show proof of insurability.
If a teacher goes on Maternity Leave, they can continue in the LTD program as long as they make arrangements with Johnson Insurance for payment.
